The stage was set at Oak Street Beach as the 2025 AVP Championships wrapped up its thrilling weekend in Chicago. After two days of heated competition, the men’s final featured a showdown between Palm Beach Passion’s Phil Dalhausser and Trevor Crabb and LA Launch’s Hagen Smith and Logan Webber.
The match lived up to the hype, with both sets going down to the wire. In the opening frame, Palm Beach edged out LA 12–14, relying on Dalhausser’s trademark blocks at the net and Crabb’s relentless pace. The second set proved just as tight, with Smith and Webber pushing the tempo, but Palm Beach managed to hold on and seal the championship with a 15–16 finish.
With the win, Dalhausser and Crabb delivered Palm Beach Passion its first-ever AVP Championship title, adding to the franchise’s growing presence on the beach volleyball circuit.
The victory also capped off a weekend where Palm Beach Passion squads dominated headlines — earlier, the women’s team of Brandie Wilkerson and Melissa Humana-Paredes fought hard but fell to Brooklyn Blaze’s Denaburg/Donlin duo, while the men’s team carried the torch and brought home the ultimate prize.
This Chicago stop once again highlighted the AVP’s energy and reach, drawing fans from across the city to the lakefront, and the Passion’s victory put an exclamation point on a weekend that saw dramatic rallies, high-flying saves, and some of the best volleyball the sport has to offer.
