Owyhee Boys Basketball Cruises Past Damien at Iolani Classic

Owyhee High School’s boys basketball team dominated Damien with a 73-26 victory at the Lolani Classic Tournament in Honolulu, Hawaii, securing a spot in the quarterfinals. The Storms controlled the game with aggressive defense, forcing turnovers, and unselfish offense, including fast breaks and smart ball movement. Maintaining intensity throughout both halves, Owyhee limited Damien to just 26 points. The Meridian-based team will face Kohala in the quarterfinals, aiming to carry their defensive focus and overall game plan against national-level competition.

HONOLULU, HAWAII - Owyhee High School's Boys Basketball team continues their powerful showing at Lolani Classic Tournament with a major 73 - 26 win against Damien earlier this week, securing a spot in the quarterfinals.

The Storms took charge immediately and never gave up, using their aggressive defense and proactive offensive to execute a separation from the monarchs. Owyhee's pressure disrupted Damien all throughout the entire game, leading to turnovers and scoring opportunities that gave the storms a significant lead by halftime.

Owyhee maintained its intensity coming into the second half, subbing players in and out while keeping the rhythm high. The Storms played unselfishly, by sharing the ball and by executing on fast breaks, while the storms defense maintained Damien to just 26 point all game with this victory Owyhee will play in the quarterfinals, where they will go against Kohala later tonight. Tipoff is Scheduled for 7:55 PM Mountain Standard Time 

This game will show another opportunity for the Meridian-Based Program to challenge themself against Hawaii competition on a national level. Owyhee will aim to continue their defensive focus and overall game plan into the quarterfinals competition as the tournament continues.
